Who we are

GottaOffer is run by GottaOffer ("we", "us"), which is responsible for the personal data described here. This policy explains what we collect when you use the site, why, and the choices you have.

What we collect

When you browse. Like most websites, our servers receive your IP address and your browser's details. We record:

the stores and offers you click through to, with the time, your IP address, browser and approximate location (country and city, worked out from the IP address), so we can count clicks, match them to the sales stores report to us, and spot abuse;
your answers to "Did it work?" and star ratings, with your IP address, so each person counts once a day;
the pages and articles you read, to count views;
your cookie choices, with your IP address and browser, as a record of your consent;
the questions you type into our deals assistant, without anything that identifies you, to improve our answers.

When you give it to us.

Newsletter and code alerts: your email address and the stores you follow. We send a confirmation email first.
Saved offer reminders: your email address and the offers you saved, when you ask us to email you before they end.
Browser notifications: if you allow them, your browser's notification address and keys, the stores you follow and the offers you saved.
Reviews: the name, email address and review you send, with your IP address.
Messages: the name, email address and message you send through the contact page.

With your consent to advertising cookies: the ad click identifiers in the address you arrived from (from Google, Meta or TikTok ads) and those platforms' cookie identifiers, kept with your clicks.

We do not ask for, and do not want, payment details or other sensitive information. You do not need an account to use the site.

How we use it

to run the site, show you offers for your country and send you to the store you choose;
to send the newsletters, code alerts, reminders and notifications you asked for, and to answer your messages;
to count clicks and match them to the sales stores report, which is how we are paid (see our affiliate disclosure);
to show which codes work, and to keep votes, reviews and the site itself free of abuse;
with your consent, to measure visits with analytics and to show you our ads on other sites and tell ad platforms which ads led to a sale.

We rely on your consent for emails, notifications, analytics and advertising (you can withdraw it at any time), and on our legitimate interest in running, measuring and protecting the site for the rest.

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:

the companies that host the site and send our emails and notifications, under contract and only to provide that service;
affiliate networks and stores, who receive a click reference when you follow our link, so a sale can be credited to us;
with your consent, Google (Analytics, Tag Manager and Ads), Meta and TikTok, through their tags and our reports of sales that came from their ads;
authorities, when the law requires it.

Some of these companies are based in other countries. Where data leaves your country, we rely on the safeguards those companies provide.

How long we keep it

Email addresses stay until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Click, vote and view records are kept as long as we need them to count and reconcile sales; when you ask us to delete your data, we remove your IP address, browser details, location and ad identifiers from them. Messages are kept as long as needed to answer them.

Your choices and rights

Emails: every email has an unsubscribe link.
Notifications: turn them off in your browser's settings at any time.
Cookies: change your choice through the cookie banner, or see our cookie policy.
Your data: you can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by contacting us with the email address or IP address it is linked to. You may also object to how we use it, or complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

The site is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children; if you believe a child has sent us theirs, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy; the date at the top shows the latest version, and we will tell you on the site about important changes.
